This
instrument requires a transmitter. The instrument consists of a movement
built into an internal-illumination metall case coated against corrosion.
The transmitter is an A.C. generator supplying a voltage proportional
to the speed of the vehicle. It is upon effect of this voltage that
the pointer of the rectifier-type, moving coil-measuring instrument
deviates. The counter of the instrument will be operated by the mechanical
chopper of the generator. Indicating range of the counter: 0-999999
km.
