Electrical tachometer and running hour meter

Application
The instrument is suitable for measuring the revolution number of the motor crankshaft and summing up the engine operating hours at nominal RPM. At another RPM it counts proportionally more or less.
Description
Example picThis instrument requires a transmitter. The instrument consists of a movement built into an internal-illumination metall case coated against corrosion. The transmitter is an A.C. generator supplying a voltage proportional to the RPM of the engine crankshaft. It is upon effect of this voltage that the pointer of the rectifier-type, moving coil-measuring instrument deviates. The running hour meter is operated by the mechanical chopper of the generator. On the scale the deviation of the pointer indicates the RPM of the cranshaft. The counter sums the engine operating hours up to 10 000 hours.
